Maureen T. Kolar passed away peacefully with love surrounding her on January 4, 2022. Maureen was born on January 29, 1937 in the Bronx, NY. She is a graduate of St. Anselm’s School, Bronx, NY and Walton HS, Bronx, NY. After graduating she worked at Beneficial Finance Co. She would go to a local luncheonette for coffee and lunch where she met the love of her life, Rudy. They were married at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church and settled in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx where the good Lord blessed them with 2 children. In 1968 they left the Bronx for the “country” and moved to Sparkill, NY where they raised their family. At that time, Maureen was a home-maker and returned to work in the mid-70’s. She worked at Allyn & Bacon / Simon Schuster until her retirement in 1992. In retirement, Maureen and Rudy loved to go to Hawaii for 1 month every year until Rudy passed in 2004. They loved to drive all over the islands and take in the sites.

Maureen was an avid Yankee fan. She knew everything about the Yankees due to her father’s love of the game. She was the “son” he didn’t have and he took her to many Yankee games during her childhood. When she moved from the Bronx, she always said, “you can take the girl out of the Bronx, but you can’t take the Bronx out of the girl.
